Age?

Time is a relative component which we used to guide our way through life. And age is volatile relativity. You have a mental age, a physical age, and actual age. And, if you’re my age, there was definitely the age of Aquarius.

Everybody wants to claim to be younger than they really are. The youth pretenders are doing it wrong. I look in the mirror, thinking, I don’t look old for 85 do I. If I say that in public, people remind me I’m only 64.

Age is only one relative measurement of the time you have been visiting this world. It is like stepping into a kitchen when you think you’re headed for the restroom. At first, you’re really not sure how you got here and then, if nobody’s hollering at you or giving you grief, maybe you just want to stay there, just for a little while.

The real age of the body depends on what you do with it. Some people want to keep it as pristine as long as they can, and in doing so, Use their body as little as possible. Others, use the body for all it’s worth. Those are the ones who get the most out of both the body and life.

The fantastic thing about the relativity of existence is that you don’t have to lament not having done something in the past. You never have to worry about having lost all chances. In a relative timeline, you can do what you really want to do at any time. You just need to want to do that thing enough to overcome whatever hurdles may stand in your way.

And, if someone tells you to act your age, just remind them that age is a relative measurement.

Selling the Course

It’s a beautiful day outside. Bicyclists are out enjoying it in mass.

I am working on selling my new course. Actually, writing the course was the easy part. Selling the course without annoying everybody to death is the hard part. I built a landing page yesterday and put a welcome mat in place to gain email addresses. Today I’m working on a mail funnel.

The biggest thing is how to get out in front of many people. I’m working on Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumbler, and I am looking at Instagram and YouTube.

I’m not producing this blog to complain. Talking through the blog allows me to think, and also ask you for suggestions. The course helps you to research what you would like to do in life. Once you are sure of what you want to do, it will help you to map your goals and the milestones it takes to get to those goals.

If anyone has thoughts, comments, or suggestions, I would be very interested. If you have some advice, please reply to this. I would be excited to read your thoughts.

I thank you for your time. I am excited to blog you again tomorrow.

Thanks for being there for me.

Mike

Getting to Where You Need to Be

The question we look at often is why. Why this? Why me? Why now? Yet, many times the why is just superfluous.

If you have a situation going on, something out of the regular routine of your life, the real questions are what and how. What do I do about this? And, how do I do it?

You can spend days and weeks going over the why. As an after action report the why becomes essential because you have a chance to not get in the same problem area again. Until then, you need to improve the situation.

There are two ways to map your path out of any situation. You can start mapping where you are and plan towards where you want to be. Or, you can reach out ahead of yourself and figure out where you want to be, and then map backward to where you are. Here is a sample of each.

Mapping Forward

This is the situation I am in now (write it out). To get to where I want to go, I have to do A (write out whatever step A is.) Then I have to do B (write out whatever step B is.) And finally, I have to do C, and of course, you write out whatever that is also.

Mapping Backwards

Sometimes, mapping backward is more straightforward. You know where you need to be, so you start by listing that. Then you start working back. Before I can get to my destination, I am must do C, (write out whatever it is you need to do at step C.) Before I can get to step C, I must do step B. Don’t forget to record step B. The action between where I am now and step B looks like it may be too much of a stretch. I better put in a step A. We better record that one also.

These are just Two of the avenues to get to where you want to be.  Wherever you are going, Have a good and a safe trip.

Research and Map Your Future

Hi, my name is Mike.  I am a trainer and coach.

Most courses online fail not because they do not have useful information.  They fail because you get the course, are wished luck and then find out you are on your own.  My course is different because you get a Facebook Group with me and everyone else taking the course.  You get my Email, and I will answer within 36 hours.  And If you ask, I will give you a call.

I have taught professionally for over 15 years.  I have taken classes all my life.  I promise you that what aggravated me will not be a thorn in your side.

I understand how scary, frustrating, and expensive a life transition can be. Especially If you aren’t really sure about what you’re doing.

How do I know?

  • My dad was career Army, and I was career Air Force. Every time we moved, it was a significant change to lifestyle.
  • I retired from military service, and that was a BIG lifestyle Transition.
  • I became a Supervisor and trainer in a high-tech contract manufacturing plant, working 12-hour shifts. The lifestyle change came 14 years later when the plant closed and went overseas.
  • To keep the positions, I had earned in a life of transitions, I went back to school. First, to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, then a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Training.

So, what makes me think I can help you with Life Transition?

I have been through more transitions than you can imagine during my 60+ Years.  Not only that, I’m willing to bet I’ve probably made every mistake that can be made. And, from that, I’ve learned.

I have a new course out which will save you a lot of time, protect you from more grief than you could ever imagine, and help keep you from spending or losing between $10,000 and $75,000.

I have learned how to do Life Transitions right, how to get where you want to be and be doing what you want to be doing and living the lifestyle you want to be living. And how to do it in a sane and orderly fashion.

Gate to Future
Gate to Your Future?

When we need to make a change in life, some people fall into a rut or a metaphorical hole. A place in our minds that we just cannot get out of.  Quite often we just feel stuck there, and unable to get out. Unable to see the path to our next position. Sometimes we find it by luck.  Sometimes we never find it, and sometimes we find it because someone came along and saw us in that hole and jumped into it with us.  Metaphorically speaking, I am here to help keep you out of any holes, and if necessary to drop into the hole with you. You may look at me like I was crazy.  I could hear you say ‘now are both stuck in the hole.’

It is okay, I’ve been there, and I know the way out.

And for those of you not in the hole yet, even better. Having been there, I can now warn people about the holes and help them not to fall into those holes to start with.

If you spent three years moving between two or three jobs as you try to work out a lifestyle transition, you’ll probably lose about $10,000 worth of earnings that you could’ve made by staying with one company and are better if you can get into the right company to start with.  This course teaches you how to research and know the good and bad about the company before you apply for a job.

Map Your Way

I have many friends who came out of either the military or college and went into something that they thought they wanted to do. To gain the new credentials for the positions, they spent time getting advanced degrees, thousands of hours in some cases going through internships or externships to earn certifications. And after all the time and money spent they learned one escape the inescapable fact, “They hated that job.”

If I you can save a little money along the way that’s a beautiful thing. But that’s not the most important thing I should be doing for you. As silly as it seems, money is a renewable resource. You can always go out somewhere and earn more money. The one thing you cannot gain more of is time. We each have so much time on this earth, and then we’re going to be gone. And the worst part is, we have no clue exactly when our time is going to be up. If I can help you save a little time that’s much more than all the money that I could ever imagine saving you.

Think of what you could do with some extra time to grow in your company, to live the lifestyle you would really like to live, enjoy your family and kids.

I have three wonderful boys.  I learned that they don’t stay small forever.  They grow, they go to college, then they leave the house.  I miss them so does their mom.

To know little about me, I’ve been teaching professionally since 2003. I have taught everything from corporate training, teaching technology at a contract manufacturing high-tech plant, to teaching people how to write their resumes and prepare for the interview and earn their next job. I’ve taught live classes. And I have converted live courses to online courses. And I have developed online courses some of which are for sale today. I am a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt. My Hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I am a member of the Delta Mu Delta business honor society. I earned a Master of Arts in Education Majoring in Adult Education and Training.

My course is like no other.  Why?  In this course, I am focusing full attention on to your success. I will give you my email and make it possible for us to communicate via Facetime or ZOOM whenever you need to talk to me.

Mapping Your Future

Please enjoy our new video.                Class starts 21 June 2018

Transition

I’m a life coach. Although formally being a life coach is something new to me, it is something I’ve done most of my life. I did this as a team chief in the Air Force, a supervisor and a trainer at a high-tech contract manufacturing plant, and helping people to prepare for interviews and write resumes to gain new employment.  I have spent a lot of time as the coach, helping people to see their way to their own victories.

Life stage transition sometimes sounds like a big thing. It can seem like, “Oh my goodness! I am going to change and never come back to where I was.” The truth of the matter is we’re continually changing. As we grow and we learn more, or our circumstances change, or our needs change we find ourselves in the state of transition. Some transitions we can know about and plan for and some transitions we do not always see coming at us. And yet, transitions are a thing that we do have to face.

I am releasing a new course on life stage transition soon. It is a course designed, not to scare you, it is intended to help you understand, face things head on, and in doing so not spend extra time or money, you do not have to overspend to get what you really want out of the transition. Keep an eye on this blog, and I will gladly keep you in the loop as to when the course opens up, and how you can take the course.

I look forward to talking with you again tomorrow. Tomorrow I will show you some exciting new video from our course.

Have a great day.

Working Hard for You

Hi Everyone,

We are out working hard for you.  We hope to have your new online course out on Thinkific by next week.  I am looking forward to meeting you both one on one and in the course as we debut our pilot.

The video below gives you an idea of what the course will be about.

I am looking forward to showing you more tomorrow ~ Mike

Let’s Build Bridges

I want to thank everyone here with us again today. I especially want to take a moment at this time to thank everyone who has commented, liked and shared our blog posts in the last few weeks. I thank you very much. I appreciate you being here with us.

I have some good news this morning. I think this is good news. With the help from some friends at Mirasee© (an excellent site for teaching course builders and online business, https://mirasee.com ), we have some great things coming together. I will have a course coming out on Thinkific© (a fantastic online course platform, http://thinkific.com/ ) in the next week or so, about Life Stage Transition and how to succeed at discovering and mapping your life goals and the milestones to get there.

The new course meshes nicely with the life coaching services I offer, focusing on Life Stage Transition and Motivation. I also have a course giving some ideas of how technology will shape employment in the future. And a course on how to be Always Hirable.

If you wish to know more about these exciting activities and how to join the fun, please reply in the comments section and send me a way to contact you.  Or send me an email to mikeb@reveille.rocks.

Thank you for your support and for being there as we go forward.

Mike

Good Samaritans?

Ever Lend someone a helping hand? Ever not lend a helping hand because of fear? Either way, have you ever wondered why?

Some people say we only do whatever we do out of either fear or greed. Others claim that we only work out of altruistic desires. I’m willing to bet that when everything is boiled down, there’s a combination of all three in there.

On the one hand were always afraid that somebody’s going to put one over on us. That is when a helping hand becomes a doing for and being responsible for somebody else’s needs, and welfare while they do nothing. This leads us to a feeling of not wanting to get involved.

On another hand, we want to do good for others. When we see a homeless person in our community, we have a tendency to think about how with just a few changes in history, it could be us out there. We know that if we were there, we might need some help to get back to where we are now. We want to help in the hopes that if we were there, someone else would help.

What is the right thing to do? Well, that depends on many things. Are we in a position to help? Is it better to help with a donation of monies or donation of personal time? What help is present through other means to those on the street, and what do they need that nobody is doing presently? This is a complicated issue.

A good man from Galilee stated that the poor would be with us always. This brings me to believe that it is something that may never be cured, yet can be maintained. I can tell you that our country is blessed with riches.

When I went to a foreign country, I saw orphans in the street wearing filthy pajamas and eating leaves while those around utterly ignored and shunned them. I told my son when I got back to the states. He said to me that I was wrong, that I misunderstood. No one anywhere would ever treat a child like that. I wished his statement was correct. Only, I am the one who was there and had seen the lack of care.

I know that no one can do it all and I believe the best we can do is help people to help themselves. Yet, I always think of the good Samaritan and wonder if I am holding up my end of the bargain.
