Look Forward

I find it interesting sometimes to look at how our body design works. Did you ever notice that we are built with Eyes in the front of our head looking forward? We don’t have them on the sides like horses. We have no physical way we can look behind ourselves. I think we were built this way for a specific purpose. We need to look forward. We must keep an eye on where we’re going, not where we have been.

The best things in life are out in front of us. We should be looking forward and aiming at the good things in life. If we cannot change the past (and we can’t), why keep dredging it up? Our history is often cluttered with various pains. If we could go back and change the past to make it better. It might be worth looking behind us. Unfortunately, the past is gone. And whatever we do today, we cannot change what happened.

Although tomorrow itself is out of our reach, if we keep our eye on the future and plan, we can see the possibilities of great things. And actually, work to bring them to fruition. If we’re always looking at the past, we will miss the good things that happen now and in the future.

I highly recommend eyes forward. It is the best way to see what you desire from life, are willing to work for and make it within your ability to obtain. Never sell yourself short. I believe in people and that they can do whatever they truly put their mind to and are willing to do the work to accomplish.

Considering Relocation or Remote Work Opportunities

Sometimes work plays out in one area, and those wanting to stay in that field must move to a new location where the jobs are rising. It happens for many reasons and is often bad for those unwilling to relocate.

I have met people who will not change location or learn new techniques or software to stay viable with the current market needs. Some tell me they would not even look for a job until their old one returned. Unfortunately, their old job ended due to technological changes that removed the need for her position. It would not be returning.

We must keep up with the new changes and innovations within our career fields if we do not want to become obsolete. It is not that our corporations don’t like us. They just cannot keep up with the competition by using older technology.

Find trade publications you can read online and watch what the competition is doing. It will pay off in the long run.

Use Feedback from Others to Refine Your Job Search Strategy

Using any tool or data you can find when looking for a job is essential. It is even more critical when chasing a career. One of the main tools you should use is feedback from the people you interact with during your job search.

Sometimes it is good to try the advice in small doses until you know how it works. If it works, keep it and use it. If not, at least you tried. Not everything works the same way for everyone.

As you go through the process of finding a job, you may discover that some things change as technology and hiring standards grow and change. Some companies will hold tight to the traditional ways, and others will go with newer ways that may show better results and less cost in hiring. You must follow each company’s trend when pursuing jobs with them.

The good thing is that much data is easily gathered through the website and talking to company employees. All you need to do is collect the data and put it to good use.

Visit Job Fairs, Expo, And Technical Events

Whenever you can go to a technical gathering that deals with something you do or are interested in, you should take advantage and go there. These meetings help you to go out and see what the latest ideas and techniques are in the industry, and it allows you to gain notice of people who may be interested in hiring someone like you.

Everyone likes to meet and talk to share ideas at these events. You should not ask for a job or interview because that would be problematic. Instead, have a good resume with you (in a portfolio) and only bring it out if they ask for your resume. This way, they would have a copy for talking with you later should a job come up they thought you were suitable for.

You can still apply to open jobs on their website anytime. And making acquaintances at this type of event always helps people within the company to know you. It always helps to know someone in a company.

Tomorrow we will look at using feedback to refine your job search.

Continuously Evaluate and Improve Your Job Search Strategies

The same approach will not always work when looking for an excellent job. You will have to look at each company you are applying to. Go over their website to call your skills by the company’s terminology. Many companies have different names for the same work.

If possible, talk to someone who works at the company so you can better understand what the company is like. It will help the interviewers to see you as part of their team.

Knowledge is power. The more you know, the better off you are when looking for a job.

Job Interview Practice

Have you ever sat in a job interview, been asked a question, and as soon as you answered, you wished you could take it back and say something better? It happens to all of us. You want to practice interview questions before you get into the room. It will give you a better chance at any interview you go to.

Preparing for a job interview is nerve-wracking. Your chances increase, though, with some practice and preparation. One way to prepare is by researching the company and the position you are applying for. The best way is to go to their website, read articles they have published online, and talk to anyone you know who works there. This work will help you understand the company’s values, mission, goals, and the specific requirements and responsibilities of your desired role.

Another critical aspect of preparation is practicing common interview questions. There are many sites online where you can find generic questions commonly asked in interviews, such as “Tell me about yourself” or “What is your greatest weakness?” Practicing these questions beforehand helps build your confidence, making you feel better prepared during the interview. You can also practice and record yourself answering the questions to review later.

It’s also important to dress appropriately for the interview and arrive on time and with the necessary documents or materials. Being prepared will show that you are professional.

Listen actively to the interviewer’s questions and answer them thoughtfully and honestly during the interview. It’s okay to take a moment to think before answering and ask for clarification if needed.

Assess your skills and qualifications for improvement

Assessing your current skills and qualifications is critical in identifying areas for improvement. By looking at your abilities, you can identify strengths to build up and weaknesses to overcome. This process can help you set goals and ultimately help you succeed.

Start by making a list of your skills and qualifications. Consider your education, work experience, and any completed training or certifications. Assess where you excel and where you struggle. Do you need to address any gaps in your knowledge or abilities? What are the areas where you could use additional training or education?

Once you have identified areas for improvement, create your action plan. The plan may include enrolling in courses or training programs to build new skills, seeking mentorship or coaching to develop existing skills, or pursuing additional education or certification.

Remember that skill development is an ongoing process. It’s essential to assess your progress and adjust your goals as needed regularly. Proactively improving your skills and qualifications can open new opportunities and help you succeed personally and professionally.

Be Prepared

Many people talk about trying to find jobs and offer advice. Some of the best advice I’ve ever had and ever given is rarely seen. I have worked at a Workforce center. I have worked helping people, returned to college, and earned a master’s degree in Adult Education and Training. I have been on both sides of hiring and needing hiring. And I have been successful at both.

Information, like a small piece of gold, could be worth quite a bit.

The day you write your new resume is the first day of your new job. You do this because you always want to have prospects out there. You always want to know. Where your true value is, and who could most appreciate it.

You do not have to tell your present boss you have a new resume. You don’t have to say to the boss you are working for now that you have plans if you must find a job. It is not being deceitful; it is just being prepared.

If you were ever a Boy Scout or a Girl Scout. I am sure you understand the excellent idea of being prepared.

Tomorrow, we will talk about What the day you get like go feels like. And what you want to do about it.

There will Always Be Something

I want to thank my readership for reading my blogs. I also want to apologize for not getting very many blogs up in the last couple of weeks. It turns out my computer system was hacked and left with an unbelievably bad virus.

It took me time to realize how bad the problem was. And more time to find the correct computer repair shop that could fix it. I was lucky enough to find tech for less who had a shop in my town and was able to fix it within 48 hours (about 2 days).

The one good thing that came out of this is it pointed out the fact that I had a single-point failure within my business. If my computer went down, and it did. My business was at a complete standstill.

Even swift action when you first recognize something Does not help much if you do not have a Plan B to immediately put into place. The good news is that I was able to immediately find a sale for a reworked computer that can pick up and take over in case this ever happens again. The sad news is that it took me about two weeks of trying to get the new computer up to snuff with all my applications. Yet at least the computer is set up for work now and in the future.

I was right in the middle of setting up my site, training Academy, and online business. I wanted it to open the first week in June. Now, I am pushing to try to have it up and running the first week in July. That is OK, it is just another delay.

I will keep you informed on how things go, and let you know When the site is running.

Thanks for being with me today.

helping others can create a sense of joy and happiness.

Helping others is a powerful way to create a sense of joy and happiness in our lives. When we take the time to support those around us, we make a positive impact on their lives, and we also tap into our own sense of purpose and meaning.

Research shows that acts of kindness and generosity can activate reward centers in our brains, releasing feel-good chemicals like dopamine. This can lead to a natural high, often called a “helper’s high,” which can boost our mood and overall well-being.

In addition to the physiological benefits, helping others might improve our social connections and relationships. We can build stronger bonds and a greater sense of community by working together and supporting each other. This can lead to feelings of belonging and a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

Overall, helping others can be a powerful way to create a sense of joy and happiness in our lives. Volunteering, donating to a cause, or simply lending a hand to a friend or neighbor, giving brings meaning and fulfillment to our lives while also positively impacting those around us.
