Happy November

I love November. It is a month of paying homage to those who went before us to establish great ideas for new countries on new continents, protect us from the dangers of war, and teach us to be thankful.

It starts on day one, All Souls Day. It is the day in many areas of the world when people honor their ancestors and visit the graves of those who have passed. Graves get cleaned, and sometimes a meal is shared.

Just over a week into November, we honor the veterans and military men and women who worked hard to keep us safe and all those who have sacrificed to protect us all. We are secure and free today because of the valiant efforts they made, especially in the war to end all wars, which ended on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year at eleven a.m.

We remember the indigenous peoples who shared with our Pilgrims the first Thanksgiving. Without their help, who knows if we would have made a lasting country here or not? We do have a lot to be thankful for.

The next day is Black Friday. It was named as such because it was traditionally the day of the year when storekeepers’ ledgers went from red to black. Everyone who works in business has a chance to succeed.

Now, we have Cyber Monday, where technology prevails.

November is a hectic month for remembrance, thankfulness, and preparing for an even bigger month in December. Things are always getting better.
